Your prayers & thoughts please...

for my little neice, Lily. She is almost 9 months old, and over the last couple of months has lost about 2 pounds. My sister, Abi, has had her into the Dr. for testing, and they are still not sure what is wrong. At the last visit the Dr. told them to up her calorie intake, & keep track of exactly how much she is eating, which means no more breastfeeding. She is not keen on the formula idea at all, but the Dr. gave them 2 days to get her to take the formula or she will need to go to the hospital for a feeding tube. Please pray for little Lily that she will be able to eat what she needs to, and also that the Dr.'s can figure out what is causing the dramatic weight loss. Thank you.

Bad Blogger...

I must admit, it will take me some time to get into the groove of this blogging thing. I get so busy during the day that I don't even think about blogging. I guess I feel like I don't have a lot to say. It was nice to hang out with my mom last week, even though I spent way too much money and caused my husband some serious distress.
I am trying really hard not to get a cold right now. Madison and Andrew have both had minor colds, and I can feel it coming on. I have been using Zicam & vitamin C. My chiropractor recommended drinking unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with some water & honey (for sweetness). I think I would rather have a cold! Please, feel free to share any other ideas you have for fending off a cold.
I have been in a bit of a creative slump lately. I haven't made any new jewelry in a while and I miss it. I guess it is hard to get excited about making new things when nothing is selling. If you haven't already checked out my website, please take a minute to do so. www.sterlingandstonesjewelry.com
Everything is on sale right now in honor of the fact that I am "on strike" from EBay. The sale goes through the 28th (unless I decide to extend it). I will also give free shipping to anyone who mentions my blog, but you have to email me with a list of the items you want so that I can send you an invoice with the shipping changed. If you try to purchase through the website, it will automatically charge you shipping. So get shopping!!
Off to take care of my family and all that mothery stuff.

Shopping Anyone?

I promised I would tell you all about my newest family member...Bosch. It's my new dishwasher! Sad but true, I am excited about a dishwasher. I suppose the even sadder thing is that is was my Valentine's present. But really, my old dishwasher is almost 11 years old, and it was in pretty sad shape. I am soooo thrilled not to have to wash the dishes before I put them in the dish washer. DUH! I have had a lot of fun playing with my new toy. I am sure Cory hopes the excitement never wears off!

We have had a busy couple of days so I haven't been able to write. On Monday we all went down to St. George for the day. My mom is in town this week, the kids were out of school & Cory is on vacation all week. Woo Hoo! We went to lunch with my mom, my sister Abi & her family, and my mom's parents. Then we did some shopping and went to see The Spiderwick Cronicles. I enjoyed the movie, but I would say it was a bit too intense for the kids. They spent a lot of time covering their eyes. We had a good time though & it was nice to enjoy some T-shirt weather for a change.

Today, my mom came up here to hang out with me for the day. We went to lunch after we dropped Andrew off at Kindergarten, then we did some more shopping (of course), and came home to play with beads and visit.

I am looking forward to hanging out with her again on Thursday in St. George and doing even more shopping. I am sure Cory is NOT looking forward to that! Off to watch a movie with my hubby. Later!

Stop me if you've heard this one...

I went to Stake Conference today. The rest of the family stayed home and took a day off (Andrew is sort-of sick, that was the excuse), but I was in the choir, so I went. I am glad I did! There were some excellent talks. One lady told a darling "story" about a chicken and a pig. They are walking down the street together and they see a sign on the local restaurant that says: "Help Wanted. Ham & Eggs" The chicken says, "We should really go help out." and the pig says, "Sure, for you it is just a little effort, for me it is complete commitment!" Too cute. She talked about finding joy in our lives, having a positive attitude, and committing ourselves to the gospel. I really enjoyed her talk.

So, guess what my family was doing while I was being spiritually fed? Well, to make a long story short, Zach's room is now "Andrew & Zach's Room" and Andrew's room is now their collective "Toy Room". The boys talked their dad into turning their beds back into bunk beds! I think that will last about 2 days, and then the novelty of having bunk beds will wear off, and they will realize that they bug the crap out of each other. I am sure we have not heard the end of this one!

Now, to make this a more random & rambling blog...Cory and I saw a fun movie on Friday night. We went to "Fool's Gold" with Matthew McConaughey (super hottie!) & Kate Hudson. We both quite enjoyed it. It had the romantic comedy side for me, and some fun adventure & suspense for Cory. Aside from the random "boob flash" in the beginning, it was quite good. Donald Sutherland & Malcom-Jamal Warner (remember Theo?) were also in the film, along with a bunch of people I had never seen before. It was an entertaining movie, and I didn't feel like we wasted our $14 for the tickets. Go see it if you get the chance!

I think I will go make some brownies or cookies or something. My sweet tooth is nagging at me. When I return (possibly tomorrow) I will tell you all about the newest addition to our family...his name is Bosch!

No, I did not copy!

So, here I am on the bloggin bandwagon. It's something I never thought I would do, and yet, here we are. Cory and I are getting ready to go on our Valentine's date (a day late), so this will be a short and sweet blog. I will add more tomorrow. BTW, I did not copy Amelia. I have been planning to do this for a while...so there! More tomorrow.
